Bienvenue, mes amis! I am Bonjour II, descendent of the pet who was very likely the very first Poodle to appear in a Petz game. The original Bonjour was created for the Mac version of Dogz by AMjoie. AMjoie created Bonjour by editing the BIGDOG file. She also created color variations of the other four breeds in the original Dogz game. Carolyn Horn assisted in converting them to the Windows version of Dogz and all five are now here for you to enjoy. Being a new and original breed, however, makes me especially important. So important that Minibyte decided that, for the first time ever, she would try to convert a Dogz breed to Dogz 5 so that AMjoie could enjoy her long lost pet once again. First she converted the Bonjour/BIGDOG file. The Big Dog became a Great Dane in later versions of the game. So this first conversion, based upon the Great Dane, is most like the original Bonjour who had the personality, behaviors, bark and pose of a Great Dane.
Minibyte realized, however, that I really was a Poodle. Since a Poodle breed appeared in the game with Dogz II, she was able to create a second variation of Bonjour: a Bonjour Poodle that has the personality, behaviors, bark and pose of a Poodle. There are Great Dane overwrite versions of both the Great Dane personality Bonjour and the Poodle personality Bonjour. You MUST use one of the Great Dane overwrite versions if you wish to import, play with and (in later games) breed Dogz Bonjour petz. If you use one of the Great Dane overwrite breed files your Dogz Bonjour will import with no change in appearance and will have the personality of the overwriting variation you selected to use. Pets from the Bonjour.dog files can breed with petz from the Great Dane overwrite files, but be careful! Make back up copies of your breed files and keep them on floppies, cd's or dvd's. The Poodle and the Great Dane personality Bonjour files will overwrite each other and the Great Dane overwrite files will overwrite each other as well as the original Great Dane.dog file in your game. It would be very easy to lose one of these files by an accidental overwrite! Click on the Room you want to visit to see and download breed files. Enjoy having a Dogz Bonjour pet no matter which game version you use!
