My name is Snap and I will be happy to show you around. Did you notice my short legs? I am a Munchkin. We have a few other Catz breeds and goodies here, but if you love Munchkins, THIS is the place to be. When Minibyte discovered Magnolia Grove in 2001, all her good intentions not to adopt just because a pet was "cute," flew out the window. She adopted me. She adopted my wife, Ginger. She downloaded every single Munchkin breed file and went on a Munchkin breeding spree! She was not alone. Back then raising and showing Minchkins was a strong trend in the Petz Community. |

Magnolia Blossom was established and run by Erica Wilson. Firebird of Magic Kennel and Cattery had created the base Munchkin breed file for her. Erica used that file to hex paint many color variations of the Munchkin. The breed was accepted by the PKC and became very popular. When Erica's site disappeared Minibyte was asked to convert Erica's files to Petz 4 so they could be posted at Blue Lagoon.
Minibyte did the conversions, but there was a major problem with Erica's files. There had been since the beginning, but, in 2003, Minibyte didn't know enough about hexing to fix them. When Erica hex painted her color variations she had removed an important section of the breed file. Most early hexers didn't know how to work with the codes for color variations and Minibyte thinks that Erica was attempting to prevent color mutations in offspring. Unfortunately this worked only too well. All offspring were Albinos. Breeding nothing but Albinos isn't much fun.... Minibyte has learned a lot about hexing since then. She went back and fixed the original Petz 3 files and then did new conversions to Petz 4 and Petz 5. The colors of the parents will now pass on to their offspring! You will find both overwriting and non-overwriting files on the Munchkin pages. If you have petz from the original Magnolia Grove site or from Blue Lagoon they will work just fine with the breed files you can download here.
There ARE three, possibly four, breed files which can cause problems. There is nothing Minibyte can do about those except warn you. Read "Non-Overwriting Files Page 2" very carefully for details.
