Horse Breeds by Rafael

Hi there! Come on in, but be sure to close the gate again. We have some young foals in here that might wander off if they find it open. This is the Matador archive and I am Fury. Minibyte adopted me from Rafael's Pinto and Paint Patterns file. She thought it would be nice if I showed you around and introduced you to the different horses in here.

Those brown beauties with their foal are M Thoroughbreds. The M Thoroughbred is the first horse breed released by Rafael back in May of 2008. Rafael didn't have a site at the time, so she introduced her file in the RKC Forum and had it downloadable from a file hosting site. It quickly became popular and was soon hosted at the Genuine Breeds site.

Encouraged by all the support, Rafael tweaked and polished her breed file, creating her Arabian breed and three variations of her Version 1 Horse breed file. She created a web site for these files, named it Matador and offered her files for download in June. Read the description of each file and note that Rafael even provided a special one for those of you who would like to hex some unique pets of your own or to offer for adoption!

Version 2 of the file was never released. Instead, Sparrow Song Stables, a branch of Matador, was opened in July of 2008. It was a Petz 4 site which displayed and offered for adoption the Version 2 breeds that Rafael created. Minibyte didn't get an opportunity to adopt a Version 2 Horse from Rafael and the site appears to have been abandoned. Thus, I can't tell you much about the Version 2 horses.

The M Thoroughbred is based upon the Dalmatian. It was ceated for Dogz 4 and originally released as a Unibreed v3 file which had second generation problems, crashed in Dogz 3, would not work in some ME or XP systems and lacked an Adoption Center picture. Minibyte fixed the file so that it now breeds true, but is not able to have natural mutations. Conversion to the regular game breed file format and minor tweaking eliminated the Dogz 3 crashing problem and made the file ME / XP friendly. The breed, as created, was mute, Since they weren't needed, Minibyte removed the sound files to make the file smaller so that it takes up less space and downloads quickly. She also changed the sound path so that you can add the Galiceno and`Horse sounds by Carolyn Horn if you want your petz to "speak" horse. Finally, an Adoption Center picture was added.
