Here I am again! This "Pachuco" evening gown is the costume I wear in my starring role as Sergeant Sarah Brown. I usually dress much plainer while leading the Mission Band, giving street-corner sermons on the evils of gambling and inviting all sinners to visit the Save-A-Soul Mission. However, I had to get all dressed up for my date with Sky! And that Pink Mink gown over there is the one Miss Adelaide wears when she performs at the Hot Box. singing "Take Back Your Mink!" Poor Adelaide... she has been engaged to Nathan for FOURTEEN YEARS!!

The Zoot Suit was a style of clothing first popularized by African Americans, Filipino Americans, Mexican Americans and Jazz musicians in the late 1930s and 1940s. It had wide-legged, tight-cuffed, or "pegged," trousers; and a long coat with wide lapels, and wide, padded shoulders. Often zoot suiters wear a felt hat with a long feather nd pointy, French-style shoes.
The Zoot Suits here were based on costumes worn by characters in the Broadway play, "Guys and Dolls." The Suits were often worn with a Fedora and sometimes a chain hanging from a pocket. You can see mine in my left hip pocket! Yori also made Black and Brown Fedoras to go with the Zoot Suits.
